John Hart is our Executive Director. Before joining Hope Rescue Mission, John served for 3 ½ years as U.S. Director of Development for Arab World Ministries in Upper Darby, PA. Prior to that John was President of Reeser & Sperling Advertising in Reading, Pa for 16 years after having worked for the firm five years prior to his acquisition. He was also a public school English teacher at Oley Valley High School for eleven years.

John has a B.S. degree in Communications from Kutztown University and a Masters of English from Villanova University as well as additional credits from Penn State University. John lives in Oley, PA with his wife Sherry and is extremely proud of his daughter Ann, a Christian counselor, her husband, Tim, a local Reading dentist and their two granddaughters, Nadia and Anya. John’s interests include fly fishing, teaching Bible classes at Fleetwood Bible Church, singing in the FBC Men’s Quartet and studying apologetics and theology.

Rob joined the HRM Team in March 2011, and his primary focus is the discipleship and counseling needs of the men in both the Discipleship and Safe Haven Programs. Rob is also excited about increasing ministry partnerships with local, evangelical Churches and connecting each man at HRM to a local congregation.

Rob studied Theology & Foreign Missions at Philadelphia Biblical University and Criminal Justice at Bucks County Community College. Rob’s professional career before HRM includes 5 years as a full-time, Assistant Pastor at Fellowship Bible Church of Philadelphia (EFCA), 11 years as a Private and Court-Appointed Criminal & Civil Investigator, 9 years as a private Real Estate Investor, 2 years as a Philadelphia Police Chaplain, and a brief time as a Corrections Officer at Berks County Prison. Rob is fluent in Spanish and has enjoyed serving the Lord with missionaries in numerous countries.

Rob and his wife, Monica, have been married for 10 years, and they have been blessed with four sons- Daniel, David, Jonathan, and Luke. The Turchi’s relocated their family from Philadelphia to Berks County in 2010 and are enjoying country-living in Oley, PA where they are attending New Life Bible Fellowship Church.

Sharon came to Hope in March of 2009. Her responsibilities include managing the office, bookkeeping and organizing the various day-to-day happenings at the Mission. She has been an LPN for over 25 years working in Family Practice, Geriatrics and Home healthcare. Sharon also taught music at a local Christian school for 4 years.

Sharon and her husband Gene have been married for 30 years are the proud parents of three daughters, Sonya, Laura and Meagan. They attend Fleetwood Bible Church and teach the 7th& 8th grade Sunday School class as well as accompany the FBC Praise Team.

Sharon’s experience as a mother and nurse has come in handy at the Mission and she has been lovingly dubbed “Den mother” by the men of Hope. “This job is truly a blessing and a calling from God. I love seeing God at work in the lives of the men and in the hearts of the people who are called to work alongside us.”
